Fixing local roads

In the past £33,000 of devolved highway budget repairs and renewals was given to East Dulwich ward each year. For various nightmare bureaucratic reasons and screw-ups we still £26,000 to spend.

This financial year no money was devolved but it has been agreed a devolved budget for next year which we can decide this November will be in place. Deciding so early for next financial year will help ensure its all spent before the Olympics blocks everything for the middle half of the year.

To renew a road and both pavements works out at around £1,000/ metre in road length. Or if only the road around £500 / metre road length. We’ll have around £50,000 to allocate.

So what roads and pavements do you think need renewing and maintaining?
