The end of cigarettes?

Australia is considering pioneering  legislation that if passed would mean smoking becomes significantly less appealing.

All cigarettes and hand rolling tobacco would have to be sold in plain, unappealing olive-brown packs plastered with large graphic health warnings. Any brand name would have to be written in a common standard font below the health warnings. The actual cigarettes would also have to be absolutely plain with no branding, colouring and identical dimensions.

Its clear from research that removing these marketingdifferentiations will really help in the fight against smoking and the significant ill health it causes.  Industry sources suggest that they’ve found smokers, without the branding, can’t tell one cigarette from another.

Fingers crossed that Australia passes this law and leads the world.
