I hate to comment on a TV programme but watching Channel 4 news was horrified and disturbed by the story about Roman Catholic proven paedophile priests. They reported on 22 such paedophiles being arrested, charged, convicted and imprisoned for more than one year. Heaven only knows how many had been convicted for less than one year.

Upon release they appear to be near universally protected. Provided a home, money and what appears a salary/pension to live on. Effectively a job or pension for life where you don’t have to ever work with the only prequisite being you’re a convicted paedophile.  They even get to keep their religious title and are still recorded in a Who’s Who of the Catholic faith.

Sadly no mention of any of their victims being so well treated. No life pensions for them. No thought or regard. A faith they were brought up in jettisoning them in favour of the perpertrators of abuse agaisnt them.

Truly shocking.
